The Dudhkunda - “The lake of milk” – is a holy mountain lake and it is said to be sacred. It is believed that taking a bath in its holy water will fulfill one’s wishes. During the full moon night in August a one week long celebration is held by pilgrims and Jhakis (Shaman priests)
Thupten Choling Monastery: One of the biggest Monasteries in Nepal with more than 1’000 monks and nuns of Tibetan origin and mainly Tibetan refugees is one of many monasteries we are able to visit on the way.
Pikey Danda is one of the highest hills of Solu, enjoy the sunset or sunrise to the Himalayan Range, Everest, Makalu, Kanchenjunga, Annapurna, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Numbur, Shishapangma, Mera Peak, Thamserku and many more. The name Pikey is derived from the name of a Sherpa clan deity.
This trek can be made also with fewer days, either only the Pikey or only the Dudhkunda Trail.
